  • Real Madrid readying mammoth bid for Eden Hazard
  • Chelsea want £200m for the Belgium superstar, who is open to leaving

  • Tiemoue Bakayoko and Charly Musonda to go out on loan before the end of the month

Courtois' agent speaks out

Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea for Real Madrid to be with his family, his agent has claimed.
"There has been a misunderstanding that he wanted to get a move for the wrong reasons, but he was pushing to go out of Chelsea because of his child," Christophe Henrotay said.
"If the family were in London it would have been totally different. He would have stayed, there is no reason to leave a club like Chelsea, he could have won trophies.
"Unfortunately his kids are living with the mother in Madrid."

Sarri to Arsenal claim

Charlie Nicholas is surprised that Arsenal didn't swoop for Maurizio Sarri this summer.
The Gunners moved quickly to appoint Unai Emery after Arsene Wenger's exit in May but former Arsenal star Nicholas believes the club missed a trick not appointing Sarri.
“This coach has been floating about for a few seasons,” he said on Sky Sports. “Everybody has been pretty interested to see what he’d eventually do.
“I thought Arsenal would have been in for him too but I don’t know if negotiations went on.”

Rudiger on Kepa

Antonio Rudiger has hailed Chelsea’s record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga.
"I think he did well. He tried to speak as much as he can. He did well with that and we as defenders we needed to help him and we did that," the German centre-back told Sky Sports News.
"In general, it was a very good day. We all know Thibaut's quality, but Thibaut's not a Chelsea player anymore. I wish him good luck at Real Madrid, but now we have to concentrate on Kepa because he's our goalkeeper. In his work he's very confident.
"We're happy because to be honest our pre-season games were not that good. But today we can be more happy because we won the game. Three goals and a clean sheet. That's good for us.
"It's not always easy to adapt because it's a new style of play, but I think we did well. We moved the ball well and to have a good bench is always good."

Real Madrid want Hazard

Real Madrid will up their pursuit of Eden Hazard next week after being told £150m is not enough to sign the Chelsea star.
Hazard is open to leaving Chelsea and is yet to sign the new £300,000-a-week contract offered by the club.
Express Sport understands the Blues want close to £200m for their Belgium superstar.
And Real are lining up a fresh bid that could come close to Chelsea’s valuation.

Sarri on Hazard

Maurizio Sarri is confident Eden Hazard will remain at Chelsea, despite Thibaut Courtois' best efforts to persuade him to join Real Madrid.
The Belgian has been the subject of major transfer interest this summer.
But Sarri claims he has spoken to Hazard, who is now happy to stay at Stamford Bridge.
"I don’t know. I think there were some personal reasons, so I cannot go on personal reasons," he said of Courtois' exit. "[Eden] Hazard is with us.
"It is not a problem, I have spoken with his three or four times. He never said anything about the market. He is happy to stay here."

Chelsea made Oblak bid

Chelsea failed with an £89.4m bid for Jan Oblak before the transfer window shut.
The Blues ended up signing Kepa Arrizabalaga in a world-record deal.
However, the Times say Chelsea made a mammoth bid for Oblak before landing Kepa.
Oblak decided against joining the Blues to continue at Atletico Madrid.

Hazard and Willian to leave?

Chelsea could lose both Eden Hazard and Willian this month if the money offered is right, says Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier.
Asked whether Hazard or Willian could leave despite Chelsea not being able to buy any replacements, Le Tissier said: “I don’t think you can take it as a given (that they will stay).
“The opportunity is there and if somebody came in, a Barcelona came back in for Willian at £90m or something, would you turn it down?
“As a business can you turn it down? That’s a lot of money.”

Chelsea deal close

Chelsea are close to sending Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan to AC Milan.
Bakayoko was left out of the Blues squad for their 3-0 win over Huddersfield today.
And that’s because a move to Milan is getting closer, with the deal now resting on his loan fee and who will pay his wages.
Chelsea want some cash from Milan to loan Bakayoko to them for the season, while Milan are unwilling to cover his entire £100,000-a-week wages.

Musonda to go

Chelsea will offload Charly Musonda Jr before the European transfer window closes on August 31, according to Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur.
After just one appearance in pre-season under Sarri, Musonda will be sent out on loan to a foreign club after missing the deadline to join another Premier League team.
Terreur wrote on Twitter: “Charly Musonda Jr. hasn't been registered on any of Chelsea's Premier League lists.
“He will leave Chelsea in the next three weeks and is pushing for a move. Mateo Kovacic took his squad number '17’.”
