SALAH AND MANE SHORTLISTED FOR 2018 FIFPRO FIFA WORLD XI | MICAVY
Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah have brought joy to africa as they were nominated for the 2018 FIFpro FIFA player world eleven. Their nomination means this is the first time an an African player has been nominated since Didier Drogba in 2007.
They really deserved their position as Salah took the Premier League by storm in his debut campaign scoring a record 32 goals in the premier league and notching up a fantastic 44 goals in all competition, to add to that he won the golden boot accompanied by the Premier League player of the year and PFA player of the year.
He was able to take Liverpool to the champions league final but didn't get the chance to perform as a terrible injury made him end the match prematurely. He was also able to take his country to the world cup but he couldn't save them despite scoring 2 goals in 3 matches.
His African and Liverpool counterpart was also a key figure in Jurgen Klopp's army as he contributed with 20 goals including the goal in the Champions League final that made him the first Senegalese to score at that stage of the competition. He also captained his country to the world cup but couldn't make it out of the group due to cards simulation bt he was able to score once for them. They made sure they continued their fine performances this season as the both of them have a combined tally of six goals to help Liverpool maintain a 100% record. Salah was also nominated for the FIFA mens player of the year but he will face a stiff competition from Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric.
