Real Madrid struggle to defeat Espanyol as they scored the only goal of the game early in the first half

REAL MADRID DEFEAT ESPANYOL

A very slow and Less active Real Madrid had to battle hard for the 3 points as a stubborn Espanyol was set to stop the Defending champions of Europe. Real Madrid  were able to dominate the possession and got the lead as Modric shot took a deflection and fell to  Asensio who lashed home the goal after much discussion with the V.A.R. Real Madrid Could have gotten their second but a brilliant save from Diego Lopez denied Ramos a beautiful header opportunity in the closing stages, Madrid started looking shaky but they were able to hold on to the lead and secure 3 points.The match also saw new Signing Alvaro Odrizola make his debut and played exceptionally well, Madrid fans would be hoping to see him in the regular starting lineups in the coming season as well as Marcos Llorente. Real Madrid named a very changed lineup as Marcelo, Bale, Kroos and Carvajal were not in action in the game and it showed just how much Madrid missed
them in the match as their creativity was really needed in the match.
