ASUU SPEAKS OUT ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT "NO WORK, NO PAY" POLICY

ASUU strike continues as the federal government stops payment of lecturers



In reaction to the "No work, No pay" policy by the federal government due to the ongoing strike by ASUU. The strike began after the federal government refused to pay the staffs of the federal and state university lecturers seven years of unpaid, earned academic allowances. Although, meetings and negotiations have been held severally, but they've all been to no avail. the honest truth is that these people in power have no concern or care for the students lives they're wasting, after-all, they're kids certainly do not attend the schools, they all study outside the country in really expensive schools which majority of the masses cant afford to send their kids. The strike is really just beginning as the federal government are out for war with ASUU. 


The Chairman of University of Ibadan chapter of ASUU, Deji Omole, described the federal government as shameless for owing lecturers for such a long period of time and still wants the lecturers to continue to work while the presidency and the National Assembly ‘feed fat’ on the wealth of the nation.
Mr. Deji Omole who spoke with the premium times on Friday evening said "it is sad that a government that prides itself as having integrity has shown it lacks integrity by failing to honour agreements reached with the union. He said the government has resulted to harassment and intimidation of ASUU members on a patriotic struggle to save public education in Nigeria." he also added that this is a very common coy by the government and they will come out of it really easily.  The power of the people is stronger than the people in power.”
