INEC INTRODUCES NEW WAY TO CURB VOTE BUYING

The independent and national electoral commission has come up with a new way to eradicate vote buying and how ballot boxes are to be handled at polling units.

The chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmud Yakubu during a public hearing on ''vote buying and improving electoral process in Nigeria'' disclosed this today in Abuja.

Prof Yakubu explained how the 2019 election was going to take place. In his own words, he said the rolled up ballot papers will be handed to the voters after which the voters in turn must also roll up and flatten the ballot papers before leaving the polling booths to drop them in the ballot boxes.
he further explained that this method will prevent the electorate from displaying his thumb printed ballot papers to agents of vote buyers at the polling units.
