After the meeting between the federal government and the oil marketers came to a standstill on saturday, the oil marketers have come to a conclusion to begin strike on effective on monday 10th of January 2018
The federal government and the oil marketers are yet to reach an agreement concerning the N800 billion subsidy arrears and the oil marketers have come to a conclusion to stop all depots operation on monday, which will lead to fuel scarcity on Tuesday

The Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) emphasised on the fact that the federal government and themselves did not reach an agreement because the Federal Government did not meet the legitimate demands of the association, hence DAPPMAN has reached their final conclusion that they cannot continue to borrow from banks to pay the salaries of their staff
DAPPMAN's demand was made to the Federal Government through the Minister of Finance and Debt Management Office which was to pay cash and the total sum of indebtedness to marketers within the time frame.
Mr. Olufemi Adewole, Executive secretary, (DAPPMAN) said in a statement in lagos that offers by the government has failed to meet the legitimate demands of the association and are therefore beginning strike effective on monday 10th january 2018
