President Muhammadu Buhari has been the president of Nigeria for three years and running.Below are some of the achievements of the president during his reign so far.
President Muhammadu Buhari was born on 1942 and has been in office since 2015. He is a retired major general in the Nigerian Army and once served as Nigeria's head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d'état.
He unsuccessfully ran for the office of president of Nigeria in the 2003, 2007, and 2011 general elections. In December 2014, he emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the March 2015 general elections. Buhari won the election, defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. This was the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent president lost to an opposition candidate in a general election. He was sworn in on 29 May 2015.
The presidency on Thursday 11th released a list containing 64 achievements of his administration in the Agricultural Sector in the past three years.
The list was released by the president's aide Lauretta Onochie, and it centered on
1. The president's fight against corruption, which have blocked the excess leakage in the agricultural sector compared to other years
2. The president initiated the home grown feeding programme, which have helped In the blockage of importation of farm produce and has encouraged the monopoly of production locally.
3. Under President Buhari administration, standard and quality control measures have been developed.
4. under the Buhari led administration Nigeria has benefitted from 13.1 billion Euros honeybee project.
5. Under president Buhari administration at the end of 2016, agricultural goods as share of total trade got N212.73bn and 4.02 percent and Agricultural goods exports were 2.7 percent higher in Q4 2016 than q3 2016.
