ASUU STRIKE UPDATE, RESULT OF UNION LEADERS AND FG MEETING
The ongoing strike declared by the academic staff union of universities (ASUU) still hasn't come to an end as the Federal Government failed to reach an agreement with the Union on Monday
Senator Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment and the Academic Staff Union of Universities resumed negotiation with the Federal Government on Monday.
The meeting which was held at the ministry's office in Abuja was quite different from the previous meetings had the national President of ASUU Professor Biodun Ogunyemi and other leaders of the Union, stormed out of the meeting in anger.
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi refused to comment on the matter when questioned by newsmen about the outcome of the meeting
and why the union leaders walked out angrily.
However, the Minister of labor Chris Ngige insisted that the lecturers did not walk out. When questioned about the outcome of the meeting, the minister confirmed that negotiations were still on and the government was poised to ensure all issues will be resolved before Christmas to enable students to return to classes
