BENZEMA DOUBLE DOWNS ESPANYOL

10-MAN MADRID MOVE BACK INTO THIRD PLACE

Karim Benzema scored twice in the first half as Real Madrid were unstoppable against Espanyol. Real Madrid lost 1-0 in the corresponding fixture last season but they were quick to ensure they didn't repeat that again. Benzema ended a 3 match scoreless run before Sergio Ramos doubled his tally with his 50th headed goal for the club.

 Leo Baptistao hauled Espanyol back into the contest but Benzema doubled his tally just at the closing stages of the first half.

 Gareth Bale made it 4 just 3 minutes after his introduction only for Rafael Varane to receive a red card and make things complicated. Roberto Rosales scored a stunning Volley but that wasn't enough to stop Los Blancos from picking up another win.
